Sean Becker (4-1) threw his second complete game of the season in a 10-1 victory that helped the Pioneers earn a four-game sweep over Cal State San Bernardino. After the Coyotes scored on an error and a sacrifice fly in the first inning, the right-hander was nearly unhittable the rest of the game. In nine innings, he allowed just three hits and no earned runs while striking out six. Becker's lone walk in the sixth inning snapped a streak of 20 straight innings without issuing a free pass. The San Fernando native needed only 92 pitches to complete the game, and he threw 72 of them for strikes (78 percent). He now has a streak of 26 consecutive innings, spanning three starts, without allowing an earned run.
For his efforts, becker was named both CCAA and West Region Pitcher of the Week for Mar. 4-10. This is the second time in three weeks that he's won both awards.
