Matt Lee shot rounds of 70-71-74 to claim the individual title at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, East Bay's home tournament. The freshman's overall total of 215 (-1) put him out in front of the second-place finisher by three strokes. He was the only golfer in the field to shoot under par for the tournament, and he led the field in both par-3 scoring (+2) and par-4 scoring (-1). Lee racked up 12 birdies, the second-most of any player. He's the second straight Pioneer to win this event, joining 2012 champion Chris Herzog.
