After a slow start to her second season, Fukushima broke out offensively to lead the Pioneer softball team this past weekend in their home series against Cal State Dominguez Hills. She had at least one hit in all four games, finishing the weekend 6-for-12 with a .571 on-base percentage from the clean-up spot in the batting order.

In a low-scoring series for East Bay, Fukushima scored four of the team's runs and knocked in three more. She blasted her first home run of the season in the series finale, a two-run shot to left-center.
