Palmares was an outstanding offensive catalyst out of the leadoff spot for the Cal State East Bay softball team this past weekend, as the Pioneers pulled off a doubleheader sweep of Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday to earn a series split with the 15-ranked defending CCAA regular season champion Otters.

She had multiple hits in three of the four games, and scored key runs in both of Saturday's victories. The sophomore tallied seven hits in the series and finished the weekend with a .538 batting average. She was also excellent defensively, handling 11 chances at shortstop without an error.
