Shimizu’s PCSC Championships included three NCAA Provisional qualifying times, two school record times, and three championship final appearances. Her top finish came in the 200-yard freestyle in which she placed fourth overall.

She broke the program’s oldest record in the 1,650-yard freestyle on the final day of competition. Her time of 17:33.51 was sixth best in the finals and nearly three seconds faster than Tricia Price’s mark set in 1981.

Shimizu placed fifth in 500 free (5:03.19) and was one of two East Bay swimmers to break the previous school record. Teammate Hannah Cutts placed fourth overall in a time of 5:02.82 to claim the record.
