Junior basketball player Marcus Norman has been named CSUEB's Male Athlete of the Week for Jan. 19-25. After scoring five points in Friday's loss to Chico State, Norman had his best game as a Pioneer on Saturday as the East Bay men's team gave first-place Cal State Stanislaus all they could handle in a 77-67 defeat. He got red hot from long distance in the first half, knocking down his first four three-point attempts en route to 14 points before the break. Norman finished 8-for-14 from the field in the game, including 5-for-7 from beyond the arc. He set career highs with 21 points, seven rebounds, and 38 minutes played for an undermanned and injury-plagued Pioneer squad.
