Junior swimmer Courtney Schwiesow has been named Cal State East Bay's Co-Female Athlete of the Week for Jan. 12-18. She helped lead the Pioneers to a 179-109 over Azusa Pacific at Pioneer Pool on Saturday afternoon. Schwiesow posted victories in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, leading 1-2-3 sweeps for CSUEB in both events. The native of Moses Lake, Wash. cleared the field by over a full second in the 100 (1:07.54) and more than three seconds in the 200 (2:27.53). Schwiesow holds Cal State East Bay's program record in both events, which she set at last year's PCSC Championships in La Mirada, Calif. She and the Pioneers have one home meet left next Friday against San Jose State before traveling south for the conference championships on Feb. 18.
