Freshman guard Sarah Finlay helped guide the Pioneers to a pair of wins last week for the first time this season. The Reno, Nev., native was named Wilson/CCAA Player of the Week after scoring 35 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing out eight assists in wins over Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus last week.
Finlay scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed a season-high six rebounds in the victory over the Warriors, while going 4-for-6 from the field. In the win over the Wildcats, Finlay scored 15 points and notched a season-high six assists in helping East Bay score a season-high 69 points.
Finlay finished the week shooting 69.2 percent from the floor and was nearly perfect from the free-throw line, hitting 15 of her 18 foul shots. Finlay averaged 17.5 points, five rebounds and four assists on the week.
