Several members of the Cal State East Bay women's basketball team turned in strong performances this weekend as the Pioneers recorded two blowout home victories, but junior Stephanie Lopez did a particularly masterful job as the team's offensive orchestrator. The point guard filled up the scoresheet with 10 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in Saturday's 61-44 win over Humboldt State.
The night prior, Lopez became the first Pioneer to record 10+ assists in a game since East Bay joined the CCAA in 2009. She posted 12 points, 11 assists, and five boards in the 83-58 rout of Cal Poly Pomona. She was an efficient 5-for-7 from the field and was one of five Pioneers to score in double figures. For the season, Lopez is averaging 10.1 points per game and leads the squad with 50 assists in 13 games.Â
