Takeshi Yamamoto joined the Cal State East Bay women's basketball staff for the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach specializing in mental skills training. He brings more than three decades of experience in coaching and education.

Yamamoto spent 30 years at Shiga Women's College in Japan from 1987-2017, teaching in the Department of Childcare and Preschool Education and serving as head coach of the basketball team.
