Caleb Theodore

Caleb Theodore joined the East Bay women's basketball staff as ab assistant basketball coach during the 2021-22 season.

A former professional basketball player in Montenegro and Australia, Theodore was previously a member of the University of the Pacific Women’s Basketball coaching staff 2020-2021, where he assisted in the player development of the guards and post players.
 
Theodore helped coached Erica Adams to the West Coast Conference (WCC) All-Freshman Team. He also helped develop Brooklyn McDavid and Lianna Tillman to WCC Honorable Mention nods. Theodore also assisted in the development on WCC Defensive Player of the Year, Becky Hammon Mid Major Player of the Year and WNBA Round 3, 25th Overall Pick for the New York Liberty: Valerie Higgins.

In all, Theodore has over 14 years of coaching experience in the Central Valley region of California. He has impacted several programs within the Modesto Basketball Academy while also winning four Division I Championships in the Sac-Joaquin Sectionals. He has be responsible for the development of 20 First and Second Team All-League athletes. Under his guidance over 20 student athletes have gone on to play college basketball with ten of those being scholarship student-athletes.
 
A native of Stockton, Theodore made history as the first player in Big Valley Christian College Prep school history to play professional basketball. He has had the privilege of showcasing his talents across the globe, playing professionally in Montenegro, Australia and Ukraine. During his rookie season in Montenegro he was awarded Newcomer of the Month (October 2019) after averaging 15.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals. Theodore was noted for his international presence around skills and player development while coaching Ukraine and Montenegro.
 
Theodore played collegiately at William Jessup University and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 2016. After Covid shutdown Theodore’s season in 2020 he enrolled in Concordia University, Irvine where he earned his Master’s of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration in 2021.
 
Theodore joins head coach Shanelle Stires’ staff to help lead a Pioneer program that received votes in 2020’s D2SIDA West Region Preseason Poll.

Shanele Stires is an incredible Head Coach and I am excited to help push the needle forward with her by 'Rowing the Boat' and bring a National Championship to CSUEB.
