Eddie Rettagliata

Former Pioneer Eddie Rettagliata enters his third season as an asistant coach on Bob Ralston's staff in 2015.

Rettagliata graduated from Freedom High School, where he played both baseball and football, earning All-League and team MVP honors in both sports. He then played baseball for two seasons at Los Medanos College, batting .326 as a sophomore and leading his team to the California JC playoffs.

The Oakley native tranfered to Cal State Monterey Bay as a junior and played for the Otters for one season. The following year, he transferred to Cal State East Bay for his senior season and served as the Pioneers' starting shortstop. He started 43 games, ranking third on the team with a .291 batting average. He also bashed 3 home runs and 7 doubles, while posting a .377 on-base percentage. 

Rettagliata received the Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2011-12 year and is currently finishing his degree in Business Finance at Cal State East Bay.Â
