STOCKTON, Calif. – Entering the turn at even par during the second round of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf West/South Central Regional Tournament at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California, Oscar Blomqvist recorded back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11 and shot par on each of the final seven holes to enter the clubhouse with a 2-under 70, the lowest score recorded by any East Bay golfer on the day, to help the third-seeded Pioneers remain in contention for a national championship bid entering Saturday's final round.

Easton Hether broke par and finished 1-under; thanks to the combined efforts of Cooper Groshart and Peyton Hendricks who finished 1- and 2-over, respectively, the Pioneers will enter tomorrow's make-or break round tied for fifth place at 1-under, one of 6 teams who are under par through 36 holes
 
The top six teams, and the top two individual not participating on these teams, from the combined West/South Central Regional Tournament will advance to the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship, taking place May 18–22 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. This tournament is hosted by UNLV and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
 
Blomqvists' round propelled him up the individual leaderboard from tied for 58th to tied for 30th, where he is even par (144) on the eve of the final 18 holes. Hendricks leads all EB golfers at 1-under (143), tied for 23rd; Hether is tied for 40th at 1-over (145); Groshart is right behind his teammate, tied for 47th at 2-over (146) and Paddy Blinderman is tied for 64th at 5-over (149).

Number 10 was a bright spot for the Pioneers with four of the five players recording a 3 on the par 4 393-yard hole. Holes 6 and 7 were a bright spot for East Bay with Blomqvist, Hendricks and Hether earning birdies on the former with the trio of Blinderman, Groshart and Hether finishing under par on the latter.
