STOCKTON, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay men's golf team turned in a competitive showing at the 2026 CCAA Championship, finishing fourth overall at The Reserve at Spanos Park against a tightly contested field.
The Pioneers posted a three-round total of 881 (+17), opening with a 295 (+7) before putting together their best round of the tournament in round two with a 289 (+1). East Bay closed with a 297 (+9) to secure a top-four finish.
Cooper Groshart led the way for the Pioneers, finishing seventh overall at 218 (+2). After back-to-back rounds of 74 and 73, Groshart closed strong with a final-round 71 to climb the leaderboard.
Oscar Blomqvist followed with a 219 (+3), carding consistent rounds of 72, 72, and 75 to remain in contention throughout the championship.
Jack Blinderman added a 222 (+6), highlighted by a second-round 70, while Peyton Hendricks also finished at 222 (+6), opening the tournament with a team-low 71.
Easton Hether rounded out the scoring for East Bay with a 233 (+17).
Chico State and Cal State San Bernardino shared the team title at +4, with Cal State San Marcos finishing third at +6.
The Pioneers remained within striking distance through much of the tournament and used a strong second round to position themselves among the conference's top teams at the championship.
