KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Cal State East Bay men's basketball earned top recognition from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), as Tyree Campbell was named to the All-District West First Team and head coach Bryan Rooney was selected as the District Coach of the Year.
The honors, voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division II, recognize the top performers and leaders across each region.
Campbell turned in a standout season for the Pioneers, earning First Team All-District distinction among the top players in the West Region. A consistent and dynamic presence on the floor, Campbell played a pivotal role in East Bay's success, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both ends and deliver in key moments throughout the year.
On the sidelines, Rooney was recognized as the West District Coach of the Year after guiding the Pioneers through an impressive campaign. Under his leadership, Cal State East Bay established itself as one of the region's top programs, combining disciplined play with a high level of execution. Rooney's emphasis on player development and team cohesion was evident throughout the season, culminating in one of the program's most successful years.
