DAY TWO RECAP: Women's Swimming at PCSC Championships

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. - The second day of the PCSC Championships took place Thursday from ELAC Swim Stadium. Medals were collected in relays and individual events. Two gold medals, two silver and a bronze were added to the Pioneers' count through two days at the meet. 
  • The team of Tehani Kong, Amaya Rocheleau, Rae Ann Dressel and Alexia Fajardo took second in the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:34.09.
  • Gold and silver were taken in the 100 yard butterfly by Kong and Fajardo respectively with times of 54.44 seconds for Kong and 55.09 seconds for Fajardo. 
  • Kylie Beaudet placed third in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:24.35 for a bronze medal. 
  • To close out Thursday's women's swimming events, gold was garnered by the 400 yard medley relay team of Taylor Kolsch, Dressel, Kong and Fajardo in 3:45.95.
Through two days, East Bay holds a 29.5 point lead as the Pioneers will look to add more Friday as they chase PCSC glory. Friday's preliminary heats begin at 9:30 a.m. from ELAC Swim Stadium. The third day will feature the 500 yard freestyle, 100 yard backstroke, 100 yard breaststroke, 200 yard butterfly and 200 yard medley relay for women's swimming events.
