Pioneer Swimming Opens 2025-26 Season in Dual Meet with Pacific

HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay women's swim team turned in a strong showing against the University of the Pacific in their first meet of the 2025-26 season.  The Pioneers shined with multiple event victories and standout relay performances but ultimately fell 147.5–114.5. EB will be back in action on October 4 when they head to Reno for a dual meet with Nevada.
 
Meet Highlights
  • 200 Medley Relay: The team of Lily Caraway, Rae Ann Dressel, Tehani Kong, and Kali Mull took home a victory, clocking in at 1:47.11.
  • 800 Free: Freshman Maggie Clemens led the way with a winning swim of 8:23.68. Teammate Malana Kollath added a fourth-place finish in 8:43.95, while Miya French touched sixth in 8:58.97.
  • 150 Free: Mull placed third with a 1:25.82, just ahead of teammates Viviana Perez (1:27.22) and Sydney Prentice (1:27.25), who finished fourth and fifth.
  • 50 Back: Caraway swam to third place in 27.34, followed closely by Taylor Kolsch (28.54) and Amaya Rocheleau (29.04).
  • 50 Breast: Dressel powered to a win in 30.05, while Kylie Beaudet (32.04) and Ruby Sallah (32.61) finished fourth and fifth.
  • 150 Fly: Alexia Fajardo claimed victory with a 1:31.81, and Reese Veron (1:35.13) added a runner-up finish as the Pioneers went 1–2. Kollath also placed fourth in 1:39.35.
  • 50 Free: Kong finished second overall in 24.59, with Adalynn Ascher tying for fourth in 25.05 and Olivia Nordini sixth in 25.30.
  • 100 Free: Mull grabbed second with a 54.21, while Fajardo was fifth in 55.14.
  • 150 Back: Ascher (1:34.14) and Kolsch (1:35.18) earned second and third in the event.
  • 150 Breast: Kylie Beaudet swam to third in 1:47.70, with Faith Fletcher and Veron adding fifth- and sixth-place finishes.
  • 300 Free: Clemens took second in 3:02.09, and Perez was fifth in 3:05.61.
  • 50 Fly: Kong touched first in 25.78, leading a Pioneer trio that included Fajardo (third, 26.84) and Caraway (fifth, 27.17).
  • 100 IM: Kong returned to place second in 1:00.81, with Beaudet adding a third-place finish (1:02.58).
  • 200 Free Relay: The quartet of Ascher, Caraway, Nordini, and Mull capped the meet with a runner-up finish in 1:40.31.
