SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Even after finishing with a 12-11 advantage in shot count, Cal State East Bay men's soccer team faced a narrow 1-0 defeat against the Westmont College Warriors on Wednesday afternoon at Thorrington Field in Santa Barbara in the first of two road matches this week for the Pioneers.
The decisive moment of the contest came in the 31st minute when Westmont's Erik Guerrero scored his third goal of the season, giving the Warriors a 1-0 lead they would not relinquish.
Cal State East Bay head coach Mike Haswell following Wednesday's loss:

The Pioneers will have an opportunity to redeem themselves this Saturday, September 21, when they travel to Fresno, California, to take on Fresno Pacific University. The match is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Ramirez Field, as East Bay seeks to return to winning ways.
