CHICO, Calif. – Cal State East Bay softball completed a four game CCAA series at Chico State on Saturday. The Wildcats won game one of the doubleheader, 2-1 and the Pioneers won the series finale, 4-2.
Game One – Chico State 2, Cal State East Bay 1
The Wildcats would score both of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning for a 2-0 lead.
Annelise Garcia hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning, cutting Chico State's lead to 2-1. Later in the inning, the Pioneers got another runner into scoring position but the could not plate the runner. The top of the seventh was scoreless for CSUEB, as the Wildcats won game one, 2-1.
- Garcia led the Pioneers' offense going 1-for-3 with a home run, which was her seventh of the season.
Game Two – Cal State East Bay 4, Chico State 2
Sarissa Block singled through the right side for a pair of RBIs and a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Mariah Ayala hit for an RBI single later in the inning, as the Pioneers led 3-0.
The Pioneers would score another run in the top of the fifth inning on an error by the Wildcats that allowed
Kylie Coelho to score.
Chico State scored a run in each the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings but it was not enough as the Pioneers won the final game of the series, 4-2.
- The win went to Marissa Quintero for the Pioneers who pitched a complete game for a 12-5 record on the season. She had four strikeouts in the game.
- Block led the Pioneers' offense going 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Chico State: 11-19, 10-14 CCAA

The Pioneers will return home to Pioneer Softball Field to take on San Francisco State for a four-game CCAA series starting Friday, April 12. First pitch of game one of the series will be at noon.
