ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – Cal State East Bay softball traveled to Rohnert Park to take on Sonoma State in a CCAA doubleheader on Tuesday at Seawolf Softball Field. The Seawolves won game one 2-1. And in eight innings, won 3-2 in game two.
Game One – Sonoma State 2, Cal State East Bay 1
The Seawolves got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the fifth inning with one run. The Pioneers tied the game 1-1 in the top of the sixth inning on an
Ashlee Toy RBI double that drove in
Amelia Morales. The Seawolves took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with one run for the final tally of the game as the side was retired in the top of the seventh for a 2-1 Sonoma State win.
- Toy led the Pioneers offensively, going 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Game Two – Sonoma State 3, Cal State East Bay 2 (8 innings)
The Pioneers took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning when
Cynthia Carrillo singled up the middle to drive in
Ysabella Cortez and
Annelise Garcia.
The Seawolves would tie the game in the bottom of the fourth inning with two runs of their own.
Going to extra innings, Sonoma State won 3-2 on an RBI single by Anna Zoia-Buescher to sweep Tuesday's doubleheader.
- Carrillo went 1-for-3 with both RBIs for the Pioneers in game two.
Cal State East Bay: 18-9, 10-6 CCAA
Sonoma State: 17-11, 10-6 CCAA

This coming Friday, the Pioneers are scheduled to play a non-conference doubleheader at Dominican University of California. First pitch in game one from Penguin Field in San Rafael is set for noon.
