HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay softball wrapped up a four-game series against San Francisco State at Pioneer Softball Field on Friday. The Gators swept Friday's CCAA doubleheader, taking game one, 2-0 and the series finale, 7-1.
Game One – San Francisco State 2, Cal State East Bay 0
The Gators would score a run in the top of the first inning after an error and scored their second run in the third inning on a sacrifice fly RBI for the only tallies of the game. The Pioneers had runners in scoring position in the second, third and seventh innings, but were unable to get on the board.
Game Two – San Francisco State 7, Cal State East Bay 1
Annelise Garcia launched a solo home run to right field to start the bottom of the first inning, putting the Pioneers ahead 1-0.
The Gators scored two runs in the top of the third to take the lead, added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning and three more in the top of the fifth for their tallies for a 7-1 lead which became the final score in the series finale.
The Pioneers had runners in scoring position in the bottom of the third, fourth and sixth innings but could not plate the runners.
- Garcia went 2-3 and scored CSUEB's only run of the day on a home run. The home run was Garcia's eighth of the season to lead the team in that category.
Cal State East Bay: 21-16, 13-13 CCAA
SF State: 18-21, 14-14 CCAA
