Pioneer Women's Basketball Wraps Up Road Trip With Loss at WWU

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team concluded its season-opening three-game road trip with an 84-59 loss to (RV) Western Washington on Tuesday evening at WECU Court at Carver Gym.

GAME SUMMARY

The Pioneers faced a tough challenge against the Vikings, who took control early and maintained their lead throughout the contest. Western Washington jumped out to a 26-11 advantage after the first quarter and never looked back.

Cal State East Bay showed improvement in the third quarter, outscoring Western Washington 19-16, but couldn't overcome the early deficit. The Pioneers' effort was hindered by 24 turnovers, which the Vikings converted into 37 points.

  • Taylor Eldredge led Cal State East Bay with 17 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line.
