HONOLULU - Cal State East Bay men's soccer traveled to the Aloha State to start a two-match road trip as they took on Chaminade University for a non-conference contest on Thursday. The Pioneers finished with a 3-1 victory to remain unbeaten on the young 2023 season.
- In the 27th minute, Aidan Raftery scored his first goal of the season after pass off a corner kick. Drew Gibbons picked up the assist on Raftery's goal.
- In the 35th minute, the Silverswords converted a penalty kick by Kayden Medeiros to even the match at 1-1.
- The Pioneers would take the lead for good in the 40th minute on a goal by Michael Rossi from a direct kick outside the box. The Pioneers lead 2-1 at halftime.
- The Pioneers would extend their lead in the 72nd minute on a Bradley Moorhouse goal with an assist from Tim Cerjak for a 3-1 advantage.
- Moorhouse had two shots in the match to lead CSUEB in the category.
- Each in their third season with the Pioneers, Raftery and Moorhouse netted their first goals with the program.
- Rossi's goal was the third of his career.
- Cerjak has a team-high two assists in 2023.
- In net, Adan Corona picked up his second win with two saves on Thursday

"Set pieces were the difference today. We got great delivery and finishing on [our offensive end] and were focused to defend [their offensive end] in some difficult moments."
