SAN FRANCISCO - On Saturday, Cal State East Bay men's soccer traveled across the Bay to take on Academy of Art for a non-conference match at CCSF Soccer Field. The Pioneers and Urban Knights played to a 0-0 draw as Cal State East Bay remains unbeaten through two matches in 2023.
- In the first half, the Pioneers had 11 shots, with six coming on frame, while allowing three shots by the Urban Knights. In the second half, the Pioneers outshot the Urban Knights 9-2 and finished the match with a 20-5 shot advantage and 6-4 on net.
- Aaron Farnan had a match-high four shots for the Pioneers with two on net
- Adan Corona picked up his first career shutout in net for Cal State East Bay with no goals allowed and three saves.
- With three shots on Saturday for CSUEB was Julian Valle.
Cal State East Bay head coach Mike Haswell following Saturday's 0-0 tie:
"It was a hard fought match. We did well to keep a clean sheet but but need to improve our finishing and take our chances."
