SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – At Lower East Field on Sunday afternoon, the Cal State East Bay men's soccer team bounced back from a loss on Friday with a 2-1 win at UC Santa Cruz after a pair of first half goals.
- Julian Valle headed in a shot from three yards out in the 21st minute to put the Pioneers ahead 1-0. Mateo DiDomenico and Oscar Avendano assisted on the goal.
- In the 39th minute, Leon Eisert put the Pioneers up 2-0 with his first goal of the season, which was assisted by Valle.
- The Banana Slugs got on the board in the 66th minute on a goal from Furio Jacomini that was assisted by Torin Volkamer.
- Valle's assist was his second of the season.
- With two shots each in the match were Avendano, Tim Cerjak and Marco Campos.
- The shot count for each team was even at 12-12.
- In net, Adan Corona made three saves for his fourth win of the season.

Cal State East Bay plays Cal State San Marcos on the road with a kickoff at 3 p.m. from The Cage on the CSUSM campus. Although both teams are CCAA members, next Saturday's match will not count toward conference standings.
