SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State East Bay men's soccer continued its road trip as they took on Cal State San Marcos on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers scored a goal early in the second half from
Aaron Farnan and defeated the Cougars 1-0 in a non-conference matchup.
- After a scoreless first half, Farnan found the net in the 58th minute to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead in which they maintained for the rest of the match. Michael Rossi assisted on Farnan's game winner.
- With his goal on Saturday, Farnan leads the team in goals with four and points with 17. He is tied for third in the CCAA in goals.
- Rossi picked up his first assist of the season.
- Farnan and Julian Valle each had three shots.
- In net, Adan Corona picked up his third shutout of the season for the Pioneers.
- Cal State San Marcos outshot Cal State East Bay 16-11 and had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

"San Marcos was a very good opponent, patient and well organized. They put a lot of pressure on us and were hard to break down. The boys got the breakthrough on a second half set piece and kept the clean sheet with an excellent defensive performance."
