HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay softball finished up a CCAA series against No. 15 Sonoma State on Saturday at Pioneer Softball Field. The Seawolves won game one 11-0, in five innings, and won game two 4-1 to complete the doubleheader sweep and take three of four games in the series.
Game One – Sonoma State 11, CSU East Bay 0 (5 innings)
The Seawolves would storm out of the game with eight runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by a grand slam hit by Cassidy Romano. Sonoma State added a run each in the top of the second, fourth and fifth innings en route to an 11-0 run-rule win.

Adriana Martinez each had a hit for the Pioneers in game one.
Game Two – Sonoma State 4, CSU East Bay 1
The Seawolves would open the scoring in the top of the second with a run on a solo home run from Romano.
Adriana Martinez launched a solo home run in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 1-1.
Sonoma State took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third on an RBI single by Anna Zoia-Buescher. From there, the Seawolves didn't look back as Romano scored the next two runs in the game for SSU toward a 4-1 win to close out the series.
- Martinez's home run was her sixth of the season. She finished game two with two hits and three in total on Saturday.
- Garcia had a hit in both games and is currently on a six game hitting streak.
Cal State East Bay: 20-23, 9-15 CCAA
No. 15 Sonoma State: 30-7, 19-4 CCAA

The Pioneers are on the road for their next eight games. The next doubleheader for the Pioneers will be Tuesday as they take on San Francisco State in CCAA play as a make up game that was originally scheduled in March. First pitch from SFSU Softball Field for game one is set for noon followed by game two at 2 p.m.
