HAYWARD, Calif. – On Sunday, Cal State East Bay women's soccer hosted a CCAA match against Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Pioneers won 4-1 ending a 17-match winless streak in CCAA regular season play.
- Maya Farkas found the net in the 28th minute for an unassisted goal, which was her second of the season as the Pioneers led 1-0.
- From near the top of the box, Morgan Pearson found the upper left corner of the frame for her first goal of the 2023 season as CSUEB led 2-0 in the 37th minute which was the score at halftime.
- The Toros came within a goal in the 64th minute when a free kick by Fatima Arnold found Alyssa Villalobos in front of the net as Villalobos scored the only goal of the day for CSUDH.
- Pearson struck again in the 74th minute to give the Pioneers a 3-1 lead. Mika Sayfurahman assisted on Pearson's second goal of the day.
- Less than five minutes later, Sayfurahman rebounded a shot taken by Sarah Cox and scored Cal State East Bay's fourth goal of the day.
- Pearson's two goals gives her seven for her career at Cal State East Bay. Pearson also registered a team-high five shots on Sunday in just 44 minutes on the pitch.
- With Sayfurahman picking up a goal and an assist, she leads the Pioneers in goals this season with three and points with eight.
- With an assist by Cox, she has at least one point in the last two matches.
- In net, Jordan Smith picked up the win with six saves.
- CSUEB had a 20-12 advantage in shots and had five corners to CSUDH's three.
- In six home matches this season at Pioneer Stadium, Cal State East Bay remains unbeaten.
- The Pioneers netted four goals for the first time since September 2019 when they defeated Holy Names, 5-0.
