HAYWARD, Calif. - On Friday evening at Pioneer Stadium, the Cal State East Bay women's soccer team hosted its first home CCAA match of the 2023 season. The Pioneers and (RV) Cal State LA played to a 1-1 draw.
- In the 57th minute, on a Sarah Cox scored on shot after receiving a pass from Kelsey Pena. For Cox, it was her first goal with the Pioneers.
- Less than 10 minutes later, Alice Hernandez found the lower left side of the frame and scored to even the match at 1-1. Shelby Melin assisted on the equalizer.
- Abigail Kern led the Pioneers with three shots on Friday with one on net.
- Also with a shot on goal for CSUEB were Cox, Madeline Bister and Mika Sayfurahman.
- In net for the Pioneers, Jordan Smith made seven saves.
- The Golden Eagles outshot the Pioneers 16-9 and had a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- The draw ends an 11-match losing streak in CCAA play for Cal State East Bay dating back to the 2022 season.
