CHICO, Calif. - Cal State East Bay men's soccer traveled to Chico to complete a suspended match against No. 3 Chico State. The Pioneers fell to the homestanding Wildcats 2-0 after a pair of second half goals by Chico State.
Today's action was the completion of a match that was started last Friday evening that was halted by lightning in Chico and the surrounding areas.
- In the 61th minute, the Wildcats got on the scoreboard in the 60th minute on a Miles Rice header that was a rebound off the crossbar and into the goal. Josh Moll had the assist on Rice's first goal.
- Rice struck again six minutes later for a goal to give Chico State a 2-0 lead.
- Aaron Farnan led the Pioneers with four shots with two on net.
- Niek de Jong recorded CSUEB's only other shot on goal.
- Chico State outshot CSU East Bay 13-9 while the Pioneers had a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The Pioneers will play at home for the next two matches. This coming Friday, Cal State East Bay hosts No. 19 Cal State LA. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. from Pioneer Stadium. Friday's matchup will be the first for Cal State East Bay head coach Mike Haswell against his former team in which he served as assistant coach.
