RENO, Nev. – Cal State East Bay women's basketball traveled to Reno to take on University of Nevada for an exhibition game on Sunday. The Pioneers fell to the Wolf Pack 90-52.
The Pioneers trailed only by three after one quarter but the Wolf Pack pulled away in the second quarter to lead 38-26 at halftime.
The Wolf Pack held the Pioneers at arms' length as they won both the third and fourth quarters en route to the 38-point victory.
Payton Sterk led the Pioneers with 18 points.
Camryn Washington scored 12 to help the Pioneers' cause.
Taylor Linzie had a game-high seven rebounds to lead the Pioneers. Defensively,
Abigail Cooper had seven steals.
The Pioneers will open their 2023-24 schedule at home on November 10 as they take on Central Washington at Pioneer Gymnasium in the opening game of the Pioneer Conference Challenge. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
