HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay women's soccer returned home for a CCAA match on Sunday to host Cal State Monterey Bay at Pioneer Stadium. The Pioneers used two second half goals to defeat the Otters 2-1, including the difference maker in the 83rd minute.
- After a scoreless first half, the Pioneers got on the scoreboard first in the 57th minute as Mika Sayfurahman scored her fourth of the season off a pass from Abigail Kern.
- In the 72nd minute, the Otters would even the match at 1-1 on an Amelia McManus tally.
- The Pioneers were the beneficiary of an Otters' own goal in the 83rd minute which ultimately made the difference in the match.
- Payton Heaney had two shots to lead the Pioneers on Sunday.
- Jordan Smith got the win for the Pioneers in net.
- Each team had eight shots apiece and the Pioneers had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
