SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team dropped its sixth straight game on Thursday evening, 56-48 to Cal State San Marcos at The Sports Center in CCAA action.
The Pioneers led by as many as seven points in the first half, with the lates moment in the half coming at the 5:47 mark when
Ramsey Huff made a jumper to give Cal State East Bay a 19-12 lead. Although the Cougars answered to tie the game with seven unanswered points,
Kevin Ebiriekwe made a 3-pointer with six seconds left in the half, as the Pioneers led 22-19 at halftime.
Through the first 10 minutes of the second half, CSUSM outscored the Pioneers, 20-8.
Cal State East Bay would close the deficit to two points at the 3:16 mark after a pair of free throws by
Payden White. The Pioneers trailed 47-45.
For the remainder of the game, the Pioneers were held to not scoring a field goal as the Cougars pulled away with a 56-48 win.
- Dimitrios Klonaras led CSUEB in scoring with 12 points, while Huff and Garrett Pascoe added 10 each.
- Nine of Pascoe's 10 points were a result of a performance beyond the arc of 3-for-5.
- White had a team-high seven rebounds.
- Defensively, Huff had three steals.
- Scoring a game-high 20 points for the Cougars was Greg Milton III.
