HAYWARD, Calif. – A win streak came to an end on Saturday for the Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team against No. RV Cal State LA, as the Pioneers lost in three sets to the Golden Eagles, 30-28, 25-12, 25-17. In the effort for Cal State East Bay,
Lexi Pagani led the team in blocks with eight and
Kara Green had nine kills with no errors.
The opening set was a battle that went into extra points. Although the Pioneers had multiple five point leads in the first set, CSULA managed to come back. In extra points, the Golden Eagles prevailed with a 30-28 win.
In the second set, the Golden Eagles dominated, winning 25-12. It was multiple unanswered runs by Cal State LA that helped extend the lead. The final five points of the set were scored by CSULA to go ahead 2-0 in sets.
Set three was closer for the Pioneers, but Cal State LA finished with a 25-17 win to complete a 3-0 sweep.
- Pagani's eight blocks was tied for the most among all CCAA players in a three-set match in 2022.
- Kara Green had nine kills and Alexandria Gloria had five, all without attack errors.
- Tiana Weeks had the only service ace for Cal State East Bay on Saturday.
- Taylor Miche had a team-high 12 digs.
- For CSULA, Ayjah Landers and Iane Henke had 10 kills each.
