Pioneers Battle Early Against No. RV CSULA

HAYWARD, Calif. – A win streak came to an end on Saturday for the Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team against No. RV Cal State LA, as the Pioneers lost in three sets to the Golden Eagles, 30-28, 25-12, 25-17. In the effort for Cal State East Bay, Lexi Pagani led the team in blocks with eight and Kara Green had nine kills with no errors.

SET SUMMARY
 
The opening set was a battle that went into extra points. Although the Pioneers had multiple five point leads in the first set, CSULA managed to come back. In extra points, the Golden Eagles prevailed with a 30-28 win.
 
In the second set, the Golden Eagles dominated, winning 25-12. It was multiple unanswered runs by Cal State LA that helped extend the lead. The final five points of the set were scored by CSULA to go ahead 2-0 in sets.
 
Set three was closer for the Pioneers, but Cal State LA finished with a 25-17 win to complete a 3-0 sweep.
