HAYWARD, Calif. - Dr. Darrell Bailey, Sr., who has served in multiple athletic administration roles for Cal State East Bay since 2010, has accepted a position to lead Capital University as Director of Athletics and Recreation. 

Bailey will oversee an NCAA Division III athletic department, based in Columbus, Ohio,  that includes 18 varsity sports. 

"Darrell has been an integral part of East Bay Athletics for the last 12 years," stated Cal State East Bay Director of Athletics Allison Kern. "His commitment to our staff and student-athletes is evident in the enthusiasm he shows up with every day. His impact will be missed in the Pioneer family but we are thrilled for this new opportunity for Darrell and his family. We wish him all the best at Capital!"

In 2010, Bailey joined Cal State East Bay as Athletics Business Manager overseeing business and financial operations. 

Bailey was named Assistant Athletic Director for Development in 2017 at Cal State East Bay where he oversaw corporate partnerships, fundraising, community engagement, alumni outreach and giving.
