HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team won big in its NCAA West Region Quarterfinal matchup against Academy of Art, 67-49, on Friday evening at Pioneer Gym.
It was the first NCAA Division II Tournament victory in the history of Pioneer women's basketball. After winning the CCAA Tournament championship last weekend, East Bay has now won eight-straight games.
Mina Tameliau scored 16 points with eight rebounds on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, while senior guard
Madison Schiller scored 13 points and
Delia Moore finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
CSUEB (23-2) will take on No. 5-seed Azusa Pacific in Saturday's NCAA West Region Semifinal at Pioneer Gym, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
