IRVINE, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay softball team finished up its strong opening weekend with a victory over Hawai'i Pacific, 9-1, on Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Concordia Kickoff Classic.
With the win, East Bay (4-1) is off to its best start since beginning the 2017 season 4-1.
Five Pioneers recorded two hits on Sunday including junior
Sarah Duran, senior
Madeline Ramirez, sophomore
Serena Cadena, freshman
Annelise Garcia and sophomore
Sydney Littles.
Littles hit her first-career home run, which was a solo shot to right field in the fifth. Junior
Kayla Ching broke a 1-1 tie in the second inning with a three-RBI triple to put CSUEB ahead for good, 4-1.
Senior
Anamaria Beard earned her second win of the weekend in the circle, tossing a scoreless four innings allowing just three hits and striking out two.
Cal State East Bay resumes action next week, with a road doubleheader against Dominican on Friday, Feb. 12, beginning at 12 p.m.
