HAYWARD, Calif. – On Saturday afternoon, the Cal State East Bay men's basketball team dropped a CCAA home game, 84-71 to Cal Poly Humboldt. Scoring a team-high 27 points for a second consecutive game was
Grady Lewis.
With 12:59 left in the first half,
Dimitrios Klonaras made a 3-pointer for a 15-11 lead. That would be the largest lead for the Pioneers. The game was eventually even at 26-26 on another 3-pointer from Klonaras at the 6:04 mark.
Through one half, Cal Poly Humboldt led 42-35.
Although the Pioneers cut the deficit in the second half to only two points at the 15:30 mark on a 3-pointer from
Garrett Pascoe, the Lumberjacks did not relinquish their lead and pulled away late for an 84-71 win on Saturday.
- Lewis scored 27 points for a second straight game, going 12-for-19 from the floor and making three free throws.
- Lewis also led the Pioneers in rebounds with seven.
- Defensively, Klonaras had a block and two steals.
- Although the field goal percentage was very slightly in favor of Cal State East Bay (50 percent to 49.2 percent), the Lumberjacks went 13-for-23 in 3-pointers.
- Malek Davis scored 26 points for Humboldt, including a 6-for-9 performance from beyond the arc.

Cal Poly Humboldt: 2-5, 0-2 CCAA
