SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The second meet of the 2022 Slug Shootout took place on Saturday on the campus of UC Santa Cruz. In team scoring, the No. 25 Cal State East Bay women's swimming team placed first among eight teams. Five individual and two relay top finishes for the Pioneers led to the win.
Brooklyn Dressel had three individual first place finishes. For the second day in a row, she placed first in the 50 yard freestyle, as her time in the event on Saturday was 24.33 seconds. In the 200 yard freestyle, she was the top finisher in 1:57.10 and in the 50 yard butterfly, finished in 26.45 seconds.
Delaney Carlson won the 100 yard freestyle in 54.07 seconds and
Katie Rosychuk won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:21.96.
Cal State East Bay won both relay events. The relay team of

Tori Padilla,
Emma Knott and Dressel won the 400 yard medley relay in 4:00.49 and in the 200 yard freestyle relay, Dressel,
Nella Pashak, Knott and Carlson won in 1:38.48.

One more meet in fall 2022 for the Pioneers takes place from November 18-20 as Cal State East Bay will participate in the Collegiate Winter Invitational, which takes place at East Los Angeles College Swim Stadium in Monterey Park.
