WAHIAWA, Hawaii – The Cal State East Bay men's golf team finished in fourth place on Wednesday at Leilehua Golf Course in the Southwest Airlines HPU Sharks Shootout among a field of 16 teams.

Quentyn Kowata finished in a 12
th place tie on the leaderboard for the Pioneers.
Here are some of the notable performances among the Pioneers throughout the tournament.
- Coreno carded a 67 in Wednesday's second round, as he climbed the leaderboard into the 12th place tie. He had nine birdies throughout the tournament and finished 4-under-par 140.
- Also in a 12th place tie at 4-under-par from Cal State East Bay was Kowata, who had 10 birdies on 36 holes played in the tournament.
- Fraser Owenson and Easton Hether had second round scores of 3-under-par 69. Owenson finished at even par and Hether was 1-over-par 145. Hether had nine birdies in total.

Alan Sue shared his thoughts about the Pioneers performance in the tournament. "The men's team struggled in round one executing," stated Sue. "We were able to make the adjustments and performed at a high level today. This is one of the best team rounds top to bottom in the team's history. I'm very proud of the effort and I look forward to the second tournament of this trip."
Sharing the team title for the tournament was Chico State and Stanislaus State. Not only was there a team share in the tournament, but the individual leaderboard was also tied at the top with Tyler Ashman from Chico State and Chris Ebster from Stanislaus State finishing at 9-under-par 135.
The Pioneers will hop islands in Hawaii to participate in the Dennis Rose Invitational this coming Friday and Saturday at Waikoloa Beach Golf Club in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii.
