SEASIDE, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay men's golf team participated in the Otter Invitational this week, as the final round wrapped up on Tuesday at Bayonet Golf Course. Competing as an individual,
Ryan Hong placed third on the leaderboard at 7-under-par 209 (66-74-69).
Hong had 17 birdies, which was tied for the most among the entire field.
For the team scoring, the Pioneers finished in fifth place among 18 teams in the tournament. Cal State East Bay's lowest score among the players affecting team scoring was an even par finish from
Xavier Coreno. Coreno had 15 birdies throughout the 54 holes played.

Alan Sue. "On the most difficult course that we will face this season, our top two, Xavier and Easton, led the way for the team. Also, an impressive tournament from
Ryan Hong as an individual this week. He nearly tied our best individual finish at the Otter Invitational which was earned by Coach [Chris] Oetinger back in the early 2010s."
Cal State East Bay's final two tournaments of the 2022 fall season take place in Hawaii next week. Form October 25-26, the Pioneers will compete in the Southwest Airlines HPU Sharks Shootout, taking place at Leilehua Golf Course in Wahiawa, Hawaii. On October 28-29, CSUEB will compete in the Dennis Rose Invitational at Hapuna Golf Course in Kohala Coast, Hawaii.
