CARSON, Calif. – On Sunday, the Cal State East Bay women's soccer team scored two goals in a CCAA match, but ultimately lost after a late game-winning goal, falling 3-2 to Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Morgan Pearson and
Maya Lawrence scored a goal each for the Pioneers.
- The Toros took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute as Kekoa Nelson capitalized on a penalty kick attempt.
- Less than three minutes later, Pearson found the net for the fourth time this season to even the match at 1-1. Mika Sayfurahman assisted on Pearson's goal for her second assist of the season.
- The Pioneers took a 2-1 lead in the 38th minute, when Lawrence scored her first career goal at CSUEB, which was unassisted.
- In the 52nd minute, Sabrina Barata netted the equalizer for CSUDH to even the match at 2-2. Lucia Yanez assisted on the goal.
- With 30 seconds remaining in regulation, the Toros went ahead 3-2 on a goal from Azalia Salazar, which shortly thereafter became the game winner. Yanez assisted on the game-winner.
- Pearson has four goals on the season to lead the Pioneers in the category.
- Pearson had a strong offensive presence on Sunday, with eight shots and five on frame.
- Majae De Leon and Lexie Randolph had three shots each on Sunday.
- Randolph, Pearson, Kayla Morales and Kylie Newman all played a full 90 minutes among non-goalkeepers.
- As a team, the Pioneers had a season-high 22 shots, with 12 on net.
