HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team returns home for two key conference contests this week, as the Pioneers play host to Humboldt State on Thursday, Jan. 20, beginning at 5:30 p.m., before taking on Sonoma State on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 1 p.m.

CSUEB (11-1, 6-0) has won 10-consecutive games and currently stands in first place in the CCAA standings. The Pioneers are coming off a road victory at San Francisco State, 74-51, on Jan. 15. 

East Bay has won two of its last three matchups against Humboldt State (4-7, 3-4), including the last meeting at Pioneer Gym in 2019. The Pioneers have won seven of their last nine games against Sonoma State (6-8, 5-3) and four of the last five played in Hayward.

The Pioneers have the top scoring defense in the conference this season, limiting opponents to only 54.3 points per game, and have the highest average margin of victory in the CCAA (12.4). 

Senior guard Madison Schiller and junior Delia Moore are tied for 13th in the CCAA in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per contest, while Moore is third in 3-point field-goal percentage (.351).

Freshman Taylor Linzie is eighth in rebounding with 7.6 per game and sophomore guard Zhane Duckett ranks sixth in the conference with 2.9 assists per game.
