HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay volleyball team travels to Southern California this week for conference contests against ranked opponents No. 12 Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, Sept. 24, and No. 24 Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, Sept. 25.
Both matches this begin at 7 p.m., and will be streamed live on CCAA Network along with live stats. It will be the Pioneers' first two contests this year against teams ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll.
CSUEB (5-5, 0-2 CCAA) is coming off narrow home losses last week, as the Pioneers dropped contests to SF State and Cal State Monterey Bay by identical 3-1 decisions.
Junior
Breyan Ashley leads East Bay with 123 total kills and 4.27 points per set this this season, while sophomore
Mia Jordan ranks second in both categories with 94 kills and 2.93 points per set. Ashley also leads CSUEB with 115 digs and 18 blocks.
Sophomore setter
Megan Crecelius has a team-high 178 assists for the Pioneers, and
Peyton Griffin isn't far behind with 159 assists on the year. Junior
Kara Green's 100 digs rank second on the team behind Ashley, while Jordan (16) and senior
Steena Hubbard (15) rank second and third, respectively, in blocks.
