HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East bay women's swimming team begins its 2021-22 season against the University of the Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 25, beginning at noon.
When last in action, the Pioneers won the 2019-20 Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference (PCSC) championship for the second-consecutive season.
East Bay returns 2020 All-American senior
Peyton Wayment, who won the conference title in the 1650 freestyle and also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 1000 freestyle. In addition, senior
Maddie Wittkowske was part of the Pioneers' 800 freestyle relay team that finished second at the 2020 PCSC Championships.
Following this opening weekend, CSUEB will compete in the PCSC Invite beginning Oct. 2, before hosting Pepperdine in its home opener at Pioneer Pool on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m.
The PSC Championships are set for Feb. 16-19 in St. George, Utah, while the NCAA Championships will be held March 9-12 in Greensboro, N.C.
