Pioneers Fall Short in Home Match vs. SF State

HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team dropped a home match on Thursday afternoon to San Francisco State, 6-0, at Pioneer Stadium.

Following a two-match unbeaten streak at home, CSUEB (1-3-1) has now lost two straight at Pioneer Stadium.

SF State (3-1) recorded three goals in the first half and followed it up with three scores in the second. Gustavo Ferrari finished with a hat trick and an assist.

Senior Tommy Flora led East Bay with five shots, including two on target. The Sacramento native currently ranks second on the team in shots (7) and shots on goal (3).

Sophomore forward Adam Mockridge recorded two shots on goal off the bench for the Pioneers, while sophomore defender Aaron Farnan played all 90 minutes on the back line.

Cal State East Bay will now regroup and get set for a non-conference road match at Stanislaus State on Sept. 25.
