HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team returns to action following a two-week holiday break, as the Pioneers travel south to face Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, Jan. 1, beginning at 3 p.m.

Cal State East Bay is 11-9 all-time against Cal State Dominguez Hills, and has won 10 of the last 12 meetings with the Toros. The Pioneers won 10-straight head-to-head meetings from 2015-19.
The Pioneers have the CCAA's fifth-best scoring offense, averaging 75.3 points per game, and are second in the conference in assists per game (16.8).

Zafir Williams ranks eighth in the CCAA averaging 15.4 points per contest and has the best free-throw percentage in the conference (.879). Meanwhile, junior guard

Williams scored a team-high 21 points with three rebounds against San Bernardino on Dec. 18, while freshman guard
DJ Sanders added 15 points, four assists and three rebounds and senior
Justin Vigil finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
Sanders scored a team-high nine points with four rebounds in the Dec. 16 contest against Cal Poly Pomona, while Vigil finished with eight points and junior forward
Tone Patton added seven points with four rebounds.
