OAKLAND — The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team clamped down defensively Saturday afternoon, defeating Cal State San Bernardino 57-37 at Tobin Gym on the campus of Holy Names University.
It was the second-fewest number of points given up by the Pioneers this season, as they earned their ninth-consecutive win.
Junior guard
Delia Moore led the way with 13 points, four rebounds and a career-high six steals. Senior guard
Madison Schiller scored 10 points with four steals, while senior
Sylvia Vartazarian added 10 points with four rebounds.
Junior
Grace Campbell scored five points with 13 rebounds, and
Taylor Linzie finished with four points and 14 rebounds.
East Bay led 15-7 at the end of the first quarter and had a 29-19 advantage at halftime. The Pioneers out-rebounded San Bernardino for the game 52-28.
CSUEB (10-1, 5-0 CCAA) returns to action on New Year's Day, as East Bay heads south to face Cal State Dominguez Hills beginning at 1 p.m.
