East Bay Looks to Continue Winning Streak This Weekend in SoCal

HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team looks to continue its winning streak this weekend in Southern California, as the Pioneers are set for a road contest at Cal State LA on Thursday, Dec. 2, beginning at 5:30 p.m., before taking on No. RV Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m.

Thursday evening's contest at Cal State LA will not be streamed. Live stats will be available for both games, and Saturday's match up against San Marcos will be streamed live on CCAA Network.

CSUEB (5-1) has won four-straight games overall, and is coming off a thrilling conference-opening home victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills, 82-81, on Nov. 27. The Pioneers have won three of their last four meetings with Cal State LA, and earned a victory in their last contest at Cal state San Marcos on Jan. 2, 2020.

Senior guard Madison Schiller scored a team-high 21 points in both contests over the weekend, and currently ranks ninth in the CCAA averaging 14.7 points per game and seventh in field-goal percentage (.474).

Meanwhile, sophomore guard Zhane Duckett is fifth in the conference with 3.7 assists per game, while freshman Taylor Linzie's 6.5 rebounds per contest rank 14th in the CCAA.

East Bay has the top scoring defense in the CCAA, limiting opponents to 57.3 points per game, and is second in scoring margin as the Pioneers are defeating opponents by an average of 11.7 points per contest. Meanwhile, Saturday's opponent San Marcos leads the conference in scoring averaging 78.5 points per game.

CSUEB also leads the CCAA in rebounding (43.8), rebounding margin (10.3) and offensive rebounds per game (16).
