SAN JOSE — The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team fared well in an exhibiton contest against Division-I opponent San Jose State, 60-56, on Friday evening at Provident Credit Union Event Center.

Justin Vigil scored a team-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting to lead the Pioneers, while senior forward
Zafir Williams had 13 points with eight rebounds and junior guard
Jesse Galloway finished with 11 points and three assists.
The Pioneers trailed by 10 with four minutes remaining, but cut their deficit to two, 58-56, after Galloway's 3-pointer with just over one second remaining.
CSUEB begins its regular season next Friday, Nov. 12, as it plays at Fresno Pacific as part of the CCAA-GNAC Challenge beginning at 8 p.m.
